
Lecture about Pharmaceutical Resistance
The distinguished Assistant Administrative of the President and the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Raaed Noufi attended a lecture on the Pharmaceutical Resistance and the participation of a number of professors and specialists. The lecture, which was given by Dr. Ruaa Abdel Rida Aziz and Dr. Mehdi Haider Hammadi, included the proper use of the drug and its impact on the health of the individual in case of misuse.
The lecture included the definition of microorganisms that may lead to many infections and the definition of antibiotic and its working mechanism and its types which available at the reach of individuals. There were also some statistics on the excessive use of antibiotics in Iraq and the world in one way or another. In addition, In microorganisms against each antibiotic and how resistance genes are transferred between sensitive bacteria and antibiotic resistance.
It also shows how the components of antibiotics given to animals to protect them from diseases or to the point of abundant production were transferred to human consumption through the production line. Examples were given of the mortality rate caused by multi-resistance bacteria in Iraq and the world. Finally, the goal of the lecture revealed the definition of how to reduce the misuse of antibiotics in ways by proper protective methods, such as the use of antibiotics during colds, for example, and other viral diseases, and also if the use of antibiotics must be a complete course to reduce the identification of bacteria to the antagonist Limit their resistance.
The Assistant Administrative of the President of Al-Karkh University and the Dean of the Faculty of Science dr.Raaed Noufi urged this lecture to be given in a symposium for the second time because it contains important information and educational benefits to the Iraqi community.
