A delegation from the College of Science at Al-Karkh University of Science participated in the National Conference to discuss the development of the National Strategy for Water Security in Iraq and the rationalization of water consumption organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.

He added that the issue of water conservation requires the development of a national strategy for water security in Iraq, as well as reviewing the legislation and international agreements related to the rivers of countries, the use of political and technical negotiations on the establishment of dams, and major reservoirs of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers.
For his part, the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Mahdi Al-Alaq, stressed the need to spread awareness of the community through the activation of information, educational and religious programs on rationalizing water consumption, and avoiding excess. He called on researchers in various universities to intensify their scientific efforts in providing research to help tackle the water crisis and find future solutions.
