A seminar on the Medical Use of Biochemistry
The Faculty of Science organized a seminar entitled "Medical Use of Biochemistry" where Dr. Fadel Karim Farhan Hussein presented the seminar in the Department of Medical Physics. He pointed to the definition of bio-ceramics as those materials that are compatible with human tissue and integrate with them. Ceramic materials are promising materials in applications that concern the compensation of teeth and bones as well as dental fillings, so many researchers interested in the methods of preparation and development in this area.
There are three types of materials that have been selected and applied in human organ compensation: inactive biomedical materials, effective ceramic materials, and chemically decomposing and harmless ceramic materials. Examples of these materials are alumina, zirconia, hydroxyapatite, glass ceramics and titania.
