
An introductory lecture at the University of Al-Karkh of Science on the Iraqi Society of Medical Physics
The College of Science at Al-Karkh University of Science organized a lecture on the Iraqi Society of Medical Physics, in the presence of the Vice-president of the university for scientific affairs Dr. Luai Kazim Abboud and a large number of professors, instructors and students.
The lecture, which was given by Dr. Naja Naji, a professor at the College of Medicine at Al-Mustansiriya University and representative of the Iraqi Society of Medical Physics. The lecture included a brief explanation of the Society and its extensive activities in the scientific field of medical physics. She pointed out that the Society was established in 2011 in Iraq as an independent scientific non-profitable that included Iraqi medical physicists, specialists and groups working in the field of physical medical applications, including cancer tumors, radiation, radiation diagnosis, nuclear medicine and radiation protection.
The lecture aimed at transferring modern scientific knowledge to all specialists in this field by enhancing scientific communication between Iraqi medical physicists with other professional specialties working in the field of physical applications in medicine, governmental scientific educational institutions and research centers, and organizing activities that increase awareness. The lecture also aimed at the awareness of the dangers of radiation and ensure the safety of the community of radiation exposure, as well as activating the link between scientists, researchers and local students in Iraq and the world, providing them with all useful things in their scientific career, in addition to the possibility of knowledge and dissemination of research Scientific participation and participation in international conferences.
