Students of the Department of Microbiology visited the Iraqi Center for Cancer Research and Medical Genetics

The Department of Microbiology at the College of Science at Al-Karkh University of Science organized a scientific trip for the students of the department to the Iraqi Center for Cancer Research and Medical Genetics at the College of Science / Al-Mustansiriya University, in the presence of the Head of the Department Dr. Mustafa Abdul Hussein.

The visit included access to the experimental treatment department, the medical genetics department, the cancer research department, and the molecular biology department. The visit included an explanation of the most important laboratory devices used in the center's departments such as electron microscopy, tissue shredding unit, PCR types and the mechanism of using genes after treating them in different ways in gene therapy. The students were also introduced to the types of laboratory animals and how they are used in scientific research.

The aim of the visit was to introduce students to the practical nature of the work and to communicate the theoretical study into practical application, preparation and training so that they will be able to enter the field of actual application after graduation.
